1996 NBA Playoffs

This was the Kings' first playoff appearance since 1986, but would be Mitch Richmond's only one as a King (he previously appeared twice in the playoffs for the Golden State Warriors in 1989 and 1991).

In the 13th round, the San Francisco Warriors selected Denise Long, a girl's high school player from Whitten, Iowa.

Ken Pries

From 1979-1984, Pries worked as a sports coordinator for KNBR radio in San Francisco, handling the broadcasts for the San Francisco Giants, the Golden State Warriors and University of San Francisco basketball.

Luis Flores

His draft rights were traded to the Dallas Mavericks along with $300,000 cash in exchange for the draft rights to Vassilis Spanoulis before being traded to the Golden State Warriors on August 24, 2004.

Šarūnas Marčiulionis

Despite a language barrier during his NBA career (Warriors coach Don Nelson hired his son Donnie as an assistant chiefly to serve as an interpreter for Marčiulionis), Marčiulionis was a devoted teammate and active in the communities he played in.
